Let’s volunteer so others can EAT! Every day of the week, teams of volunteers gather to sort and pack the food donations that come through SF Food Bank doors. From bins of oranges straight from the grove to 2,000-pound totes of rice, volunteers ensure that there are always hands at the ready to pack the food for distribution. This year, volunteers provided 142,000 hours of support — the equivalent of 68 full time staff!

ATTIRE:

•Closed-toe shoes are required at all volunteer projects. Anyone wearing sandals, flip-flops, or any other shoe with an open toe will not be able to participate in the project.

•Because you’ll be helping to repack food, please wear casual and clean clothing, long pants, securely fastened jewelry, and comfortable (no open-toe) shoes.

•We suggest dressing in layers, as the temperature in the warehouse is often cool.

PARKING INFORMATION:

Street Parking or Week night volunteers: the south parking lot by the loading dock is also available at this time

Those of us who want will go to enjoy a dinner in the neighborhood after volunteering!

Address: 900 Pennsylvania Ave, San Francisco
